At Emerald Law & Consulting, the core objective is to empower women to advocate for themselves, their families, and their futures.
We prioritize relationships first and take a collaborative approach to estate planning - no mansplaining here! Through open and honest conversations, we help clients educate themselves and encourage them as they make choices to support their unique goals.
ELC seeks to be a community- and client-focused firm by breaking down barriers, demystifying the legal process, and closing the estate planning gap. Emerald Law & Consulting prides itself on helping strong women and families from all walks of life feel comfortable with their future plans.
Hi, I’m Tara! I’m so glad you’re here.
As a mom to two young girls, I know the importance of planning for, providing for, and protecting my family's future.
I also see the importance of showing these girls how to be strong, capable, and self-confident. That's why I love connecting with smart, vibrant women looking to take control of their lives and their futures. For me, estate planning has been an amazing way to help women do just that.

relationships are everything.
We strive to make every interaction warm and authentic. Before we can even begin drafting a single document, we want to get to know you: your family, your hopes and dreams, your goals, and your worries.
You can expect honest advice, absolute trust and confidentiality, and also complete transparency. You’ll know up front what costs you’ll incur, what your estate plan includes, and what steps you need to take in the future. I will never take for granted the trust that you place in me and my services.
education and ownership are the keys to
All women should feel empowered to make the decisions that they believe are best for them and their families.
At Emerald Law, we provide exactly what you need to own your estate planning journey. And I will always be available to answer questions along the way.
Through access, information, and encouragement, we are working to close the gender, racial, and socioeconomic gaps that exist with traditional estate planning--because you deserve to control your own health, wealth, and legacy.
community is our superpower.
While this firm is focused on women, we absolutely welcome all people and families, and we will always treat you with respect and care. It's my goal to help you feel included and valued. Being open-minded, accepting, and supportive strengthens our community and each other.
Furthermore, we believe in giving back to the community and helping others do the same. We do this by contributing to local causes, advocating for restorative and healing social policies, and by offering pro bono legal services to underrepresented Missourians.
a virtual law office.
As a busy mom of two young children, I understand the importance of flexibility and convenience. My husband and I put off our estate planning for years (yes, you read that right!) because we couldn’t seem to sync our schedules and spare the time off work to meet an estate planning attorney.
With this in mind, ELC operates on a mostly virtual basis. You don't need to leave the comfort of your home or office to come to mine.
To save you time, travel, and stress, most of our communications will occur virtually. We'll use phone and video calls, texts, and emails. I’ll even provide you with a secure online client portal that can be used to communicate, exchange and review important documents (24/7 availability), and even sign when appropriate (some documents may need to be signed in person).
